Potty Training

She finally wants to poop and peed in the toilet, Yay!!! big celebration. It happened last week when I told her before her bath that she should pee first before the bath, coz we dont want to pee in the bathtub and she agreed. Yesterday she called me because she poop, when I checked her diaper there was no poop. So I sat her on the toilet and told her to push and she mimicked my face while pushing, she did it!

Such a big progress, so happy, potty trained in no time!

Kebun Raya Bogor

So, our long lost relative from China who lived in the US came to Indonesia yesterday. I took a day off to show them around Jakarta and outside, we went to Kebun Raya Bogor a place where I always dream where Emilie could run around in a field.

Checked out the orchid observatory, after Emilie finished observing the place, meaning going back and forth the rock patches and running around the observatory we went around the area and found a soccer field but hugeee. I’d showed her that we should run around the field but after 5 walks in the field, she complained that her feet was wet, so she stood there, didnt want to take another step and ask me to carry her out of the field. Hahaha so much for a dream come true. My daughter likes to keep herself cleaned.

We should have a picnic there, it was so lovely. I love the greenery, no cars, no pollution and no trashhh (Amazing!)

I’m gonna drag Arya to come!

After all that lovely incident, Emilie fell on the pavement and scratch her knee, it wasnt bad but it made her scream for a little while but all is good.

Merry Go Round

Children are unpredictable lil creatures, you can never guess what will they do next. This saturday we went to the mall and Emilie was mesmerized by the merry go round. She kept coming back n forth while glancing at me asking for permission. Now me as parent, I don’t like to get my kid hook on those timezone kinda place. There’s no educational value to it, its just for fun. However I can’t also take away the fun of children, so once in awhile I do indulge her with those fun uneducational stuff.
But this time I made her a deal, if she finishes her milk I ll let her play. It was a struggle alright, in the end she didn’t finish her milk n I still let her ride the merry go round. At the merry go round, I made a new deal, after we play you finish your milk. And amazingly she kept her promise.

I was so proud of her, for a 2 year old she understands a lot and but she is a kid, her evil 2 sometimes come out n play. And she finished playing said goodbye to the toys and walk away, no crying, no fuss, no kissing the floor, how grownup could that be!

Young but Old, Weird!

A: Like I said, cihuii, I’m hip n happening yo!

Kasian yahh kitaaaa, we’re 28 but we feel so old. Why? Because we got married and had a baby?? As much as we love Emilie, we gotta go out more! Imagine in 5 years time, how would we feel? Especially when you’re planning to have a 2nd baby. Yikes!

Maybe a babysitter is the answer of this quarter life crisis? naaahhh I hope not.

Just Like Any Other Day

Did chiro this morning, feeling better no headaches in the morning. Back ache is still there but the doctor said it’s normal when your body trying to heal.

Emilie is always pleaseant in the morning, she got lots of mosquito bites lately, although we didnt see any mosquitos in the morning. Really hate those mosquitos. She talks alot lately, especially after our trip to Semarang. Tiring but worth it. We got to see Oma and Opa, think Emilie was happy to see Bobby and friends more than Oma Opa. But I’m glad we went to see them, and I can see that they were happy to see Emilie who’s so active and smiling all the time.

Nothing much is going on right now, just like any other day doing our routine day by day. Emilie and I make bread in the morning, I spread the butter she pour in the chocolate sprinkler and we ate them with milk on a bowl while watching backyardigans or pocoyo.

One thing that surprise me is that lately Emilie seems to be afraid of a lot of things. She’s afraid of Santa Claus, Johnny and the Sprites, swimming by herself and showers. She also could tell us that she’s afraid of these things. I guess that’s normal for a 2 year old.

17.5 Months Old

Emilie, emilie, emilie….My baby…you’ve come so far from a helpless lil baby to a know it all young toddler.

I love the fact that when you wake up in the morning, I can hear your lil voice in the baby monitor calling us both “Mama” and “Papa” or even “udah” meaning that you’ve finished your sleeping time and you’re ready to get up and start the day with us, although Mama could use another 5 minutes of sleeping time.

A new habit that we created sometime ago is I climb in your crib and Mama played “bobo” and you smack me in the head to wake me up. I’ve told you a thousand time that smacking me in the head is not a laughing matter, then I scolded you about the smack and you come close to my face and pat me it was like you were saying sorry but then you smack me again for the third time and laugh.

Then you kiss me on the cheeks, forehead and nose. What a silly baby!

Every morning we sat on the table, and Daddy pour you some cereal, you ate some before the milk was poured. But once the milk was in the bowl, you drink it straight up not bothering with the cereal that was still crunchy and that you’re supposed to eat the cereal together with the milk. Then you ate the cereal seperately, you scoop up as much as you can fit into the spoon and you open your mouth so wide to fit it all in.

After the cereal you would help me with making bread, I spread the butter, you pour in the choc sprinkler and we cut the bread. You took 1 slice and gave it to me so we can eat it together.

All this morning rituals have been going on for months now, and we love spending each time together, and at night me and Daddy like to tell stories about you and we laugh ourselves silly.
